Membership

Application Process & Requirements

  • Membership is open to Georgetown Univ. (GU) faculty whose research has a metabolomics component
  • Affiliate membership is open to GU staff and postdoctoral fellows, as well as members of other local universities
  • Membership requests will be reviewed and decided on by the CMS Advisory Committee. A decision will be communicated via email within 3 weeks of receipt
  • Membership status will be reviewed every three years to ensure the member’s participation in the CMS and their academic interests warrant continued membership

Expectations of Members

  • Actively support and participate in Center-sponsored research seminars and opportunity to attend annual research retreat
  • Engage in discussion regarding the creation of new, collaborative research programs
  • Provide information on metabolomics related publications, research grants, and research training activities to the Center on an annual basis
  • While not mandatory, members are encouraged to cite their CMS affiliation in publications and research presentations, OR list in their acknowledgements
  • Members are encouraged to provide feedback and can be occasionally invited to attend Advisory Board meetings to discuss their feedback

  • Actively support and participate in Center-sponsored research seminars
  • Engage in discussion regarding the creation of new, collaborative research programs

Benefits of Membership

  • Interact in an environment that will support and foster interdisciplinary basic, clinical and/or translational research in metabolomics
  • Eligibility for the CMS sponsored research pilot grant program for GU members
  • Provide and receive administrative and technical support for metabolomics related grant submissions
  • Receive Center Newsletter and provide opportunities to showcase metabolomics research
